Burglary Rate per 100K Population

Burglary rates for regions are consistently about half the rate of burglary for cities. The rates for the Pittsburgh region and the City of Pittsburgh are consistently low.

The Pittsburgh MSA’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2017 was 256.2, a decrease of 17.2 percent from 2016’s burglary rate and the lowest rate of all benchmark regions.

The City of Pittsburgh’s burglary rate per 100,000 population in 2017 was 526.3, an decrease of 12.9 percent from 2016’s burglary rate of 604.4.
